Researchers are evaluating an investigational injectable for painful foot nodules caused by Ledderhose Disease. Study-related care is provided at no cost.

Plantar fibromatosis, also known as Ledderhose disease, is a condition in which firm, fibrous nodules develop along the plantar fascia on the bottom of the foot. These nodules form within the thick band of tissue that runs along the sole of your foot.
Many people first notice a firm lump or nodule in the arch of the foot that gradually becomes painful when walking or standing for long periods. What may start as a small, painless hard nodule on the bottom of the foot can grow over time, making it uncomfortable to wear certain shoes or stand on hard surfaces.
The nodules can range from small to large and may affect one or both feet. In some cases, multiple nodules develop along the arch, creating a thickened band of tissue that limits flexibility and causes discomfort with every step. The condition tends to progress gradually, and symptoms often worsen without intervention.
Plantar fibromatosis is more common in middle-aged and older adults and may occur alongside related conditions such as Dupuytren's contracture, a similar fibrotic condition affecting the hand. While the exact cause is not fully understood, it is considered a fibroproliferative disorder that may have a genetic component.
Current treatment options are limited. They include orthotics, steroid injections, radiation therapy, and in some cases surgery, which carries a high recurrence rate. Many people find that conservative treatments provide only temporary relief. This is why clinical research into new investigational approaches is important for people living with this condition.
Answer a few questions to see if you may be a match for this study.
If you meet the initial criteria, a research site near you will be in touch.
A study team will confirm your eligibility and walk you through next steps.
All study-related care, visits, and medication are provided at no cost. No insurance is required.
A clinical study is a research program that evaluates investigational medications under the supervision of qualified doctors. Participation is always voluntary.
All clinical research studies are required to follow strict FDA guidelines and are subject to ethical oversight by an independent review board. A qualified research team monitors each participant throughout the course of the study.
Study sites are located across the United States. After completing the initial screening, you’ll be connected with a site near you.
